We offer suggestions which help students to get to know the city. These are some of our recommended activities.

  • Take a 3 minute walk to Trafalgar Square to visit the National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery. Continue walking to reach Regent Street and Oxford Street.
  • Take a walk past the Houses of Parliament to reach the Tate Britain art gallery.
  • Explore the South Bank and make a visit to the Tate Modern art gallery.
  • Take a bus or underground train to Knightsbridge and South Kensington to visit the Natural History Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
  • Visit the Sunday markets in Brick Lane and Spitalfields for a brilliant mix of vintage clothes and street food.
  • Walk along the South Bank following the river from Big Ben to Tower Bridge. Pass by some of London’s most iconic and important buildings and monuments and visit Borough Market for some of the best food in London.
  • See the fashion both old and new at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
  • The longest street market in London is on Saturdays at Portobello Market, starting in fashionable Notting Hill.
  • You will find some of the best views in London from the top of the hill in Greenwich Park. Travel to Greenwich by Riverboat and discover the Maritime Museum and Greenwich Market too.
